The short answer
r/ABraThatFits publishes no karma or account age requirement. What it does ask is that you take your measurements and run them through the community's calculator before you post, and that any photos go inside a text post. About 80% of posts stay up, and most of the rest are removed by moderators, often ordinary help requests that come back later with a clearer title and more detail. The room is warm and practical, and businesses have to verify with the mods before posting at all.
Who posts here
Most posters are measuring themselves properly for the first time, and the welcome message points them to a beginners' guide, an FAQ and the calculator. The replies use the house vocabulary freely: sister sizes, scoop and swoop, roots, projection, gore, and UK versus US cup letters. A very basic question is answered kindly, but a post with no measurements gets asked for them before anyone can help.
- First timers who just ran the calculator and do not believe the size it gave them.
- People in hard to find sizes, small bands or large cups, looking for brands that actually stock them.
- Regulars who know brands and styles in detail and answer most of the threads.
- Parents, partners and siblings posting on behalf of someone else.
- People whose size changed after weight change, surgery, pregnancy or medication.

What AutoModerator says
The moderators' bot leaves these messages on posts. They are the closest thing to an official statement of the thresholds.
Hello, thank you for submitting a post to /r/ABraThatFits. We want everyone to feel safe posting here, so we want to tell you that we will NEVER send you a private message asking for pictures. If someone does, screencap the message and send a link to the image in a PM to the mod team. If you are not already aware, there is a lot of information on the sidebar of our subreddit. Please remember to check out our rules before commenting and posting. In addition, a lot of newer members have questions that have already been answered in our wiki, so be sure to check out the FAQ and Beginners' Guide to see if you can find the information you're looking for. Our calculator is the first step in resolving sizing questions. Please take your measurements and try the calculator before asking the community for help. Thanks! :)

The rules, in the mods' words
- 1
Be Excellent to Each Other/No Creeps
Respect each other and the community - including no creeps, no bodyshaming, no transphobia, no medical advice, no comments that are discriminatory towards marginalised groups. No requests for personal information or for someone to PM you. This includes asking for pictures of people when this isn't helpful, or asking for pics without stressing that it isn't required. See full unabridged rules for more information.
- 2
No pics of naked breasts
This includes pictures of wire marks and pictures of breasts covered by hands - only breasts in bras or clothes are allowed.
- 3
Bra pictures should be within text posts only
Bra pictures should not be posted directly as link/image posts, only within the bodies of text posts.
- 4
No pictures of others without permission
Don’t post pictures of others - including celebrities - without their permission. The ONLY exceptions to this rule are stock images of bras (to display the bra, NOT to comment on the fit), and bra fitting resources (such as Bratabase, WBSLL).
- 5
No posting surveys without Mod Permission
Many surveys posted to the subreddit are just phishing scams or thinly veiled advertising, so the mods need to check through all surveys and approve them before you post.
- 6
Sales PSAs must have a non-referral link
You can add a referral link in addition to a general link. If you are an employee of a company, you must comply with business account rules.
- 7
No linking to posts in other subreddits
Prevents drama/brigading
- 8
Business Rules
Businesses must verify their accounts with moderators before posting, and follow the business rules laid out here
- 9
Rules for Underage Users
Users under 18 must not: Post pictures of themselves Share their age
- 10
Rules for Bloggers
Bloggers must follow the rules laid out here
- 11
Do not link to r/ABraThatFits in inappropriate places
Do not link to our subreddit anywhere creeps are likely to see. This includes but is not limited to: - every porn subreddit - people arguing about what counts as big/small - posts asking about "ideal body/woman" - popular posts mentioning bra sizes, where the target audience isn't primarily people who wear bras (example: map of cup size by country) If you are found to be mentioning ABraThatFits in inappropriate places, you will be banned. If we believe it was in good faith, it'll be a temp ban
These are the rules as archived in January 2025. Rules change. Check the sidebar before you post.
The culture
r/ABraThatFits is a help desk that has been running since 2010. About 676,000 members, around 50 posts a day, and nearly all of it is one person describing their measurements and their current bra, and a handful of experienced members telling them what to try next. Text posts are 98% of the feed. A typical post runs about 130 words and gets seven comments.
The feed is mostly four kinds of request: recommendations, which is about 40% of posts, measurement checks, fit checks and general questions. The posts that climb highest are different. They are thank you posts from people who found their size after years in the wrong one, warnings about a retailer's billing or returns, and complaints about chain stores that fit everyone into the few sizes they stock.
The live argument is the calculator. Most regulars treat it as the starting point for every conversation, and say so. A minority report that its size did not work for them and that the room can get defensive about it. The other constant is safety: every new post gets a message warning that nobody from the mod team will ever message you for pictures, and the first rule is about creeps.
What lands
- A success story with the before and after sizes, such as years in a 34A that turned out to be a 32D.
- A practical warning other shoppers can use, like how to get out of a lingerie subscription or a bad returns experience with an online store.
- A store review of an in-person fitting, good or bad, with the city and what the fitter actually did.
- A request with all six measurements, your shape if you know it, and the make, model and size of bras you have already tried.
- News that affects where people can buy, such as a brand dropping a band size or a factory closing.
What gets removed or ignored
- About 18% of the sample was removed by moderators, and our data does not show the reasons. Many were ordinary help requests with short, vague titles that reappeared soon after with a fuller title and stayed up, so an automatic filter on thin posts is the likely explanation, not a judgment on the question.
- Image and link posts. Pictures belong inside a text post.
- Comments that break the first rule: body shaming, medical advice, asking for personal details or asking someone to message you privately.
- Surveys posted without moderator approval, which the rules describe as often being phishing or disguised advertising.
- Posts from businesses that have not verified with the moderators.
The unwritten rules
- Write a title that says your size and your problem. The posts that stayed up almost all did. One word titles and "help" titles are the ones that vanished.
- Paste your measurements in the format the calculator gives you. Regulars read them at a glance and will ask for them if they are missing.
- Name the exact bras you tried: brand, model, size, and what went wrong. Replies come back as specific models and sizes, not general advice.
- Say which sizing system you mean. UK, US and EU cup letters differ and the regulars will ask.
- Recommending a small shop is normal here when it answers the question. An account that only ever recommends one shop is what the business rules exist for.
Self-promotion
The rules are stricter than most. A business has to verify its account with the moderators before posting and then follow a separate business policy. Bloggers have their own rules, surveys need approval, and a sale announcement must carry a normal link alongside any referral link. In practice brand and store names fill the comments, because that is what the questions ask for, and members recommend small makers freely. What the room does not tolerate is a seller posing as a customer. If you sell bras, verify first and answer fit questions as yourself.

Common questions
How much karma do you need to post in r/ABraThatFits?
No karma or account age minimum is published. The rules and the automatic welcome message do not mention one. Posts do get removed, about 18% in our sample, but the cases we saw looked like thin posts with vague titles, and several came back and stayed up once rewritten with measurements and a descriptive title.
Can a brand or store promote itself in r/ABraThatFits?
Only after verifying with the moderators. The rules say businesses must verify their accounts before posting and follow the business account rules in the wiki. Surveys need mod approval, and sale posts must include a non-referral link. Unverified promotion is the fastest way out.
What should I include in a post asking for bra sizing help?
Your six measurements from the calculator, whether you scooped and swooped, your shape if you know it, the make, model and size of bras you have tried and how they fit, and what kind of bra you want. The posting form lists these questions and says you can copy them into your post.
Can you post pictures in r/ABraThatFits?
Only inside a text post, as a link to an image host, and only of bras being worn or bras on their own. Direct image and link posts are not allowed, pictures of uncovered breasts are banned, and users under 18 must not post pictures of themselves at all.
Data as of October 4, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community. Moderators change rules without notice, so treat the sidebar as the final word.
