The short answer

No karma or account age requirement is published for r/BlueCollarPros, and the public archive shows no rules list, only the sidebar description and an AutoModerator note asking you to read the rules in the sidebar. Text, image, link and video posts are all allowed, and flair is optional. About 93% of posts in our sample stayed up, and the only removals came from Reddit's own spam filters, not the moderators. It is a small community of under 200 members with under one post a day, so expect two or three replies, not a crowd.

Who posts here

Knowledge levelBeginner to intermediate

Nothing published turns away beginner questions, and there is no weekly thread that sends them elsewhere. More than half of titles are questions, posts are short at around 50 words, and questions about getting into a trade stay up next to ones from people already in it.

  • Contractors and tradespeople, from apprentices to people running their own crews.
  • Project managers and office admins at contracting businesses.
  • Owners of small contracting businesses.
  • People weighing a move into a trade.

Reddit counts a removal by the subreddit's own AutoModerator rules as a moderator removal, so that share is not all human. Held by AutoModerator means the post is waiting in the mod queue.

The culture

r/BlueCollarPros started in June 2026 and has under 200 members. It gets under one post a day, and a typical post draws two comments. If you post here, you are talking to a few people, not a crowd.

The sidebar invites contractors, tradespeople, project managers, office admins and business owners. More than half of titles are questions, posts are short at around 50 words, and about one post in five is an image, usually a meme or a photo from the job. Comments are shorter still, around 18 words.

Removals are rare. No post in our sample was removed by a moderator. About 4% were taken down by Reddit's own spam filters, and about 3% were deleted by the people who posted them.

What lands

  • Questions about the work itself: pay, gear, getting into a trade, how a job gets done. Question is the most used flair here.
  • Memes and job-site photos. About one post in five is an image.
  • News about the trades and the job market, posted as a link with a question for the room.

What gets removed or ignored

  • In our sample the moderators removed nothing. About 4% of posts were taken down by Reddit's own spam filters, and about 3% were deleted by the people who posted them.
  • Reddit's filters act before a moderator sees a post. If yours disappears, that is the likely cause, and AutoModerator's note tells you to contact the moderators.
  • There is no published rules list to check a post against. The working limit is the sidebar's scope: the trades, the paperwork and the business of running a contractor.

The unwritten rules

  • Lead with your trade, your years in it and where you are. Answers get specific when people know who is asking.
  • Keep it short. Posts run about 50 words and comments about 18.
  • Only about 5% of comments carry a link, so a comment that links out stands out.
  • Use the Question flair if you are asking something. It is the most used flair here.

Self-promotion

No self-promotion rule is published, because no rules list is public at all. In our sample the moderators removed nothing, and a hiring post under the Job Opening flair stayed up. In practice the limit is the audience: with under 200 members and two comments on a typical post, an ad reaches very few people. Ask or answer a real question about the work, and bring up your business only when it is the answer.

Common questions

How much karma do you need to post in r/BlueCollarPros?

No karma or account age requirement is published. The public archive shows no rules list for r/BlueCollarPros, and AutoModerator's messages do not mention a threshold. Reddit's own spam filters still apply, and they took down about 4% of posts in our sample.

Can I promote my business in r/BlueCollarPros?

There is no published self-promotion rule, and a hiring post under the Job Opening flair stayed up. But the community has under 200 members and the typical post gets two comments, so an ad reaches very few people. A real question or answer about the work does better.

Is r/BlueCollarPros a good place to ask about getting into the trades?

Yes. Nothing published turns those questions away, and the sidebar covers jobs and hiring. Give your age, where you are and what you have tried. It is a small community, so expect a few replies rather than dozens.

Who runs r/BlueCollarPros?

Spacestation Labs runs r/BlueCollarPros and moderates it.

Data as of October 5, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community. Moderators change rules without notice, so treat the sidebar as the final word.
