The short answer

r/counterstrike2 does not publish a karma or account age requirement. It has four short rules: stay on the game, post in English or add a translation, do not spam or post duplicates, and stay civil. Every post carries a flair and about 96% of posts stay up, one of the highest rates we have measured. The typical post gets two comments, so it is easy to post here and hard to get noticed.

Who posts here

Knowledge levelMixed

Returning players asking how ranks work and people with a crashing game post next to high-rated players arguing about matchmaking, sub-tick and anti-cheat. Terms like Premier, FACEIT, elo and trade-up are used without explanation, but basic questions stay up and get answered. Nothing in the rules or the replies pushes beginners away.

  • Regular matchmaking players posting clips and complaining about cheaters and teammates.
  • New and returning players asking about ranks, settings and whether the game is worth coming back to.
  • Skin collectors and traders asking what an item is worth or what to buy.
  • Players with technical problems: crashes, stutter, frame times, launch errors.
  • People who build things around the game, such as stat sites, team finders and small tools, and share them here.

Reddit counts a removal by the subreddit's own AutoModerator rules as a moderator removal, so that share is not all human. Held by AutoModerator means the post is waiting in the mod queue.

The rules, in the mods' words

  1. 1

All posts must be related to Counter-Strike 2.

  2. 2

All posts must be in English or provide an accurate translation.

The translation can be in the form of subtitles in a video, directly within the post or within the comments of the post.

  3. 3

Do not spam or post duplicate submissions.

  4. 4

    Remain civil.

These are the rules as archived in January 2025. Rules change. Check the sidebar before you post.

The culture

r/counterstrike2 is the looser of the Counter-Strike subreddits. It has about 82,000 members, more than double a year earlier, and sees around 82 posts a day. Its own description promises that nearly all discussion of the game is allowed, with no censorship, and the numbers match: about 96% of posts stay up and we saw no moderator removals in our sample.

The feed is evenly split between text, images, video and links. Posts are short, about 37 words, and comments shorter, about 16. The staples are gameplay clips, complaints about cheaters, arguments over Premier against third-party matchmaking, reactions to updates that broke something, questions about what a skin is worth, and requests for help with crashes and performance.

The one subject that runs through everything is cheating and whether the anti-cheat works. Any clip of a suspicious player, and many that are not, turns into that argument, and proposals for stricter anti-cheat turn into an argument about privacy. One limit on this guide: we have no meaningful upvote data for this subreddit, so what follows is based on what gets replies, not on a list of top posts.

What lands

  • A short clip with a plain title: a clutch, a strange bug, or a moment the poster wants judged.
  • A cheating or matchmaking complaint with a specific example. These reliably start a thread.
  • A direct question about rank, settings or a skin's value that can be answered in one line.
  • A tech problem with the hardware, settings and what has already been tried.

What gets removed or ignored

  • Very little. About 96% of posts in our sample stayed up and we saw no moderator removals.
  • Posts not about the game, which the rules exclude.
  • Posts in another language with no translation.
  • Spam and duplicate submissions.
  • Reddit's filters removed about 2% and AutoModerator held under 1%. No AutoModerator message is published, so we cannot say what it checks.

The unwritten rules

  • Keep it short. Long posts are unusual here and long titles more so.
  • Expect blunt replies. A complaint about cheaters will get both agreement and people telling you to get better.
  • Pick the right flair. With everything flaired, a mislabelled post stands out.
  • Links are rare in comments, about 1%. Dropping a site link in a reply looks like advertising.
  • With a median of two comments per post, timing and a clear title matter more than polish.

Self-promotion

No self-promotion rule is published beyond the ban on spam and duplicates. In practice people share things they made, and those posts stay up: team finders, guessing games, stat tools, a research project, a recruiting call for a map maker. Skin trading sites and marketplace accounts post too. What decides the response is whether it is a free tool a player would use or an ad. Post it once, say you made it, and do not repost it.

Common questions

How much karma do you need to post in r/counterstrike2?

No karma or account age requirement is published. About 96% of posts in our sample stayed up, and AutoModerator held under 1%, so most new accounts appear to get through. The subreddit does not say what the AutoModerator checks.

Can I promote my site or tool in r/counterstrike2?

There is no rule against it apart from the ban on spam and duplicate posts, and community-made tools do get posted and stay up. Say that you made it, explain what it does for players, and post it once. Reposting the same thing is the part the rules do cover.

How is r/counterstrike2 different from other Counter-Strike subreddits?

By its own description it is the permissive one: nearly all discussion of the game is allowed. There are four short rules and almost nothing is removed, so you see more casual clips, rants and basic questions here than in a tightly moderated subreddit.

What kind of posts get replies in r/counterstrike2?

Clips, cheating and matchmaking complaints, skin value questions and tech help. Most posts get only a couple of comments, so a specific title and a clear question help. We do not have reliable upvote data for this subreddit, so this is based on reply activity.

Data as of October 4, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community. Moderators change rules without notice, so treat the sidebar as the final word.
