The short answer

r/dropshipping publishes no karma or account age requirement, and about three quarters of new posts in our sample stayed up. AutoModerator held roughly 17% for review. You need a flair and a title that says what you are asking. Selling a service is allowed once a week at most under the Marketplace flair. The room is mostly newcomers asking questions, and the experienced minority answers bluntly.

Who posts here

Knowledge levelBeginner

Close to 60% of posts carry the Question flair, and many come from people who have not launched yet: how much ad budget is enough, which store builder to use, where to find a supplier. The rules tell you to read the Beginner's Guide first and say questions it answers can be removed as spam. In practice basic questions stay up, but the replies can be curt, and some regulars will tell you your whole approach comes from a guru playbook.

  • First-timers with a small budget who want to know where to start.
  • Store owners with some orders coming in, asking about shipping times, suppliers, ad platforms and payment processors.
  • Freelancers, agencies, suppliers and sellers of ready-made stores posting offers under Marketplace.
  • Founders of tools for sellers, running polls and pain-point questions as research.
  • A small group of experienced operators in the comments who push back on get-rich-quick thinking.

The rules, in the mods' words

  1. 1

    No Spam

Selling services related to Dropshipping is allowed if done at a low volume (i.e. once per week max) and if flaired as "marketplace". Attempts to peddle "free" courses made by someone else are always considered spam and get a lifetime ban. Replying to posts with "inbox me" or "come inbox" or any other attempt at getting the OP to message you directly before having a conversation are considered spam and will get an immediate ban. Any other attempts to spam will recieve immediate liftetime bans.

  2. 2

    Be Descriptive

This sub is plagued by extremely low quality post titles and post content. If you're asking a question try your best to ask it briefly in the post title then use the text post to expand upon it. If you're asking for a review of your website / ads, then write a better post title things like "Review Please" or "New Site" are likely to be ignored by the community and removed as low-quality.

  3. 3

    Linking to Other Sites

Links are allowed to blog posts, research papers, news articles, and videos under certain circumstances (see linking circumstances below). In general as long as the link is in a post flaired appropriately, OP is not related to the website or creator channel, the content was not generated by AI, and the link is not an attempt at abusing the sub for SEO purposes it will be allowed.

  4. 4

    Extraordinary Claims Require Evidence

A common scam in Dropshipping is that somene will post screenshots showing an ever increasing revenue that quickly breaks into high earningings numbers. We require all extraordinary claims be verified. Our mod team has an internal revenue threshhold that when such a post crosses, we will remove the post and request evidence. So far, no OP has ever submitted such evidence in these cases. We may exercise this rule to protect against other similar scams in the future.

  5. 5

    No Astroturfing or Inauthentic Engagements

Apps and brands that service dropshippers tend to utilize 'creative' marketing tactics such as creating dozens of fake accounts to make false claims about their services. In these cases when such rings are uncovered we may post the evidence publicly, ban all affiliated accounts, and ban the brand/website from ever being mentioned here. Brands already banned under this rule: Spocket.

  6. 6

    Give and Take

This subreddit is for those who wish to learn and grow and help others learn and grow. We do not expect our members to give away their secret sauce to success, however, we ask that you continue to participate even once your dropshipping venture is successful helping others. Constantly posting asking for freebies from the group may also lead to a temporary ban. For example asking for a website review every week is likely to get your posts removed and your account banned.

  7. 7

Read the Beginner's Guide and Search the Subreddit

Before asking your question please reference our Beginner's Guide to Dropshipping and search the subreddit. Our members have donated a LOT of high-quality and valuable advice over the years that could answer your questions or help you get to another level before needing assistance. Posts that do not cite the Beginner's Guide or that can be easily answered there are subject to removal as spam.

These are the rules as archived in January 2025. Rules change. Check the sidebar before you post.

The culture

r/dropshipping is where people go when they have watched the videos and want to ask a human. About 83% of posts are text, the typical one runs to 85 words, and 44% of titles are questions. The same subjects come up daily: finding a supplier, shipping times from China, which ad platform to start on, payment processors that work in a given country, and why a store has traffic but no sales.

Engagement is modest. The median post gets three comments, and in our snapshot only one post passed a hundred points, a results screenshot under the Dropwinning flair. The threads that pull the most replies are honest operating problems: losing money, drowning in customer emails, regretting a supplier picked on price.

The fault line is trust. The rules were written around scams: fake revenue screenshots that lead to a course, rings of fake accounts praising an app, people replying with inbox me. Several brands are banned from being mentioned at all. At the same time the feed carries a steady stream of service offers, stores for sale and founders doing thinly disguised research, and the comments include people steering a thread toward the tool they work on. Readers know this and discount anything that sounds like a pitch.

What lands

  • A real operating problem with numbers, such as daily order volume, delivery times and what customers are complaining about.
  • A modest results post that admits what is not settled yet, like returns that have not come in.
  • A specific supplier or logistics question, for example whether a quoted all-in shipping price to one country is realistic.
  • A question about a rule change that hits everyone, such as new import charges on small parcels.
  • A candid thread about what went wrong, which draws more replies than a win does.

What gets removed or ignored

  • Revenue claims past the moderators' internal threshold. The rules say the post is removed and evidence requested, and that nobody has ever supplied it.
  • Promoting your own videos, courses or blog posts under the Discussion flair. The submit text says that gets you banned.
  • Pushing a so-called free course made by someone else, which the rules treat as spam with a lifetime ban.
  • Replies telling the poster to message you before any conversation has happened. That is an immediate ban.
  • Weekly repeat requests for a store review, and questions the Beginner's Guide already answers.

The unwritten rules

  • Say what you sell, where you ship and what you have spent. A two-line question about minimum ad budget gets two-line answers.
  • If you are building a tool and asking about pain points, say so in the first line. Several posts in our sample did, and the ones that hid it read worse.
  • Expect to be told the business is hard. The most active experienced commenters reject the guru vocabulary of winning products and tell beginners to learn basic business first.
  • Comments average about 33 words and under 3% carry a link. The rules only allow a plain URL from someone unaffiliated, so a commenter naming their own product stands out.
  • English is the working language. Posts in other languages do appear and tend to sit unanswered.

Self-promotion

The rule is more permissive than most: you may sell services related to dropshipping at low volume, once a week at most, if the post is flaired Marketplace. Marketplace was about 10% of posts in our sample, and it covers freelancers, store sales, supplier offers and partner requests. Outside that flair the tolerance drops to zero. Promoting your own content as a Discussion is a ban, astroturfing with multiple accounts gets the brand banned from being mentioned, and asking people to DM you is treated as spam. In practice Marketplace posts get little attention, and soft research posts and product mentions in comments are common. They stay up more often than the rules suggest, but readers tend to treat them as ads.

Common questions

How much karma do you need to post in r/dropshipping?

The moderators do not publish a karma or account age requirement. About 76% of posts in our sample stayed up, around 17% were held by AutoModerator and 7% were removed by Reddit's filters. A flair and a descriptive title are the stated requirements.

Can I promote my service or tool in r/dropshipping?

Yes, within limits. The rules allow selling dropshipping-related services once a week at most, flaired as Marketplace. Promoting your own videos, courses or blog under another flair gets you banned, and so does asking people to message you instead of talking in the thread. Fake accounts praising a product can get the brand banned from being mentioned.

Can I post my revenue or results in r/dropshipping?

Yes, but large claims are checked. The moderators have an internal revenue threshold, and a post that crosses it is removed until you provide evidence. Results posts that do well are modest, show the numbers and admit what could still go wrong.

Can I ask for a store review in r/dropshipping?

Yes, with the Review Request flair, a title that says more than review my site, and your domain included. Do not ask every week. The rules say repeated requests for free help can get your posts removed and your account banned.

Data as of October 4, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community. Moderators change rules without notice, so treat the sidebar as the final word.
