The short answer
r/BodyHackGuide publishes no karma or account age requirement, and most posts get through: about 80% stayed up in our sample. The hard line is sourcing. The sidebar bans buying, selling and sourcing discussion, and posts asking where to get something or plugging a seller are what the moderators take down. Bring your own results, with numbers, and frame questions around experience rather than where to buy.
Who posts here
Regulars write in shorthand like reta, tesa, cjc and ipa, and quote doses in mcg without explaining any of it. There is also a Beginner Help flair, and first-timer questions about a single compound stay up and get answered. A basic question gets a few short replies rather than a telling off.
- People losing weight on GLP-1 compounds, mostly retatrutide, posting progress photos and scan results.
- Men in their 30s to 50s combining TRT with growth hormone peptides for body composition.
- Gym-goers asking how to keep muscle while cutting.
- Newcomers to injectable peptides asking about side effects, stacking and skin or recovery compounds.
- Science readers who post summaries of new trials and studies.

What AutoModerator says
The moderators' bot leaves these messages on posts. They are the closest thing to an official statement of the thresholds.

Reddit counts a removal by the subreddit's own AutoModerator rules as a moderator removal, so that share is not all human. Held by AutoModerator means the post is waiting in the mod queue.
The culture
r/BodyHackGuide calls itself a biohacking and performance community, but in practice it is a peptide room, and much of that is about weight loss. It is young, created in early 2025, and already moves at around 35 posts a day. Retatrutide is the most talked-about compound by a distance, followed by growth hormone peptides, healing blends and copper peptides for skin.
The posts that do best are personal results. Before and after photos, dexa scans and blood panels with age, height, starting weight, months elapsed and the full stack listed are the top of the subreddit. A progress post showing over 80 pounds lost in about a year, with scan numbers and blood pressure before and after, did far better than most. The other staple is the short question: whether two compounds can be combined, whether a side effect is normal, what someone's experience was after a few months.
The fault line is sourcing. Plenty of posters ask whether a seller is any good, and the rules forbid it. Meanwhile AutoModerator points members to an approved vendor list linked from the sidebar. Expect any post that edges toward where to buy to be judged by that standard, not by how useful it is.
What lands
- Progress posts with real numbers: age, height, weight before and after, time on the protocol, and scan or bloodwork results.
- Honest write-ups of a self-experiment over weeks or months, such as a documented three month trial for hair loss.
- Side effect reports with detail, like a resting heart rate jump seen on a wearable, asked as a question rather than a complaint.
- Plain summaries of a newly published trial, with the key table and the caveats.
- Questions that ask the room to share experience, such as what has actually changed since people started peptides.
What gets removed or ignored
- Requests for suppliers, in any country, and posts asking whether a named seller is legit.
- Seller announcements, wholesale offers and "DM me for info" posts.
- Promotion for outside groups, surveys and apps.
- Long posts that read as a pitch for a newer compound, even when they cite trials.
- Some dosing questions for prescription drugs and some posts about bad reactions. Our data shows the removal, not the reason.
The unwritten rules
- Lead with your stats. Age, sex, height, weight and how long you have been on something are expected, and replies ask for them if you leave them out.
- Talk about what happened to you. Comments that tell someone what to take read worse than ones that say what someone tried.
- Comments are short and casual, about 16 words, and almost never carry a link. A link in a comment stands out.
- Weight loss posts get encouragement. People here are mostly supportive about bodies and progress, and mockery is rare.
- Do not ask about sellers in the comments either. The rules for the daily thread repeat the sourcing ban.
Self-promotion
The sidebar bans buying, selling and sourcing talk and the rules ban spam. There is no published self-promotion ratio. In practice seller posts, outside group invites, surveys and app plugs are among the posts moderators remove, and an app offer in a comment reads as spam to regulars. The only brand-adjacent content that does well is a documented personal result or a plain research summary with nothing to buy at the end.

Common questions
How much karma do you need to post in r/BodyHackGuide?
No number is published and we saw no karma message from AutoModerator. About 80% of posts in our sample stayed up. The main reason posts come down is sourcing or promotion, not account size.
Can I promote a peptide brand or product in r/BodyHackGuide?
No. The sidebar bans buying, selling and sourcing discussion, and posts from sellers, wholesale offers and invitations to DM are removed. If you want to be part of the conversation, post a documented personal result or a research summary with no link and no brand.
Can you ask where to buy peptides in r/BodyHackGuide?
No. Sourcing questions and posts asking whether a seller is legit are removed, and AutoModerator says sourcing discussions are strictly moderated. The daily ask anything thread has the same rule.
What kind of posts do well in r/BodyHackGuide?
Results posts. Before and after photos, dexa scans and bloodwork with age, weight, time on the protocol and the full stack get the most attention. Text is still the most common format, about 57% of posts, mostly short questions about stacking and side effects.
Data as of October 15, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community. Moderators change rules without notice, so treat the sidebar as the final word.
