The short answer
r/tirzepatidecompound publishes no karma or account age requirement, but Reddit's filters removed about 15% of posts in our sample and AutoModerator held about 3% more. The rules allow talk about doctors, telehealth providers and compounding pharmacies, and ban research peptides, reconstitution, asking for sources by DM, and promo codes. AutoModerator answers common provider, pricing and dosing questions by pointing to pinned posts and community surveys. Expect a large, warm room where progress photos and pharmacy quality reports draw the most attention.
Who posts here
A first-timer asking what to expect sits next to regulars comparing pharmacy formulas, additives, beyond-use dates and specific lot numbers. Beginner questions stay up and get a reply, and AutoModerator adds a link to the community's newcomer guide. A question about where to buy or how to dose is usually met with a pointer to the pinned posts rather than a direct answer.
- Patients who moved from brand-name tirzepatide or semaglutide to compounded after losing coverage.
- People prescribed tirzepatide off label or for reasons other than obesity, whom the description explicitly welcomes.
- Long-term users working out maintenance and whether they will stay on it for life.
- Experienced buyers who track pharmacies and formulas closely and report quality problems.
- Newcomers on their first few shots sharing photos, side effects and nerves.

If you're asking about dosing, here are some helpful posts, but remember that information in this subreddit is not a replacement for professional medical advice: Wondering why your prescription uses a nonstandard dose? Compounded medications are tailored to individual needs, so doses may differ from the standard 2.5 mg steps and may include an additive. If you're unsure about your dose, check with your provider. If you're looking for where to buy, reply to this comment with "where to buy".
If you're new to compounded tirzepatide, read this: A Guide to Compounded Tirzepatide It may answer a lot of questions you have.
Vile is an adjective that means extremely unpleasant, disgusting, or morally wicked. If you mean the glass container that holds your tirzepatide, it's spelled VIAL.

The rules, in the mods' words
- 1
Sourcing / discussion from doctors / providers and compound pharmacies only
Please do not discuss sourcing unless sourcing is from a medical doctor with a prescription for brand name or compounding. Compounding pharmacies can be discussed.
- 2
Reconstituting is not to be discussed
Information pertaining to reconstituting your own peptides for injection and personal use is not to be discussed as these are for research purposes only & Reddit shut down our last forum because we allowed it to be discussed. Refer to peptide subs to discuss this.
- 3
Research Peptides
Please seek a peptide forum for research purposes. Research peptides are not to be discussed in this forum due to Reddit red flagging these types of posts in these GLP-1 subs. Some have even been taken down due to it. Thank you
- 4
DM for sources prohibited
Please do not solicit others for sources outside of medical providers and compound pharmacies
- 5
No Promo Codes
Sharing promo codes or suggesting to visit your profile to obtain a promo code is prohibited
These are the rules as archived in January 2025. Rules change. Check the sidebar before you post.
The culture
r/tirzepatidecompound is the biggest room for compounded tirzepatide, about 200,000 members and around 74 posts a day, with a typical post drawing 14 comments. The description says plainly that it does not give medical advice and that tirzepatide is prescribed for many reasons, not just obesity. The rules were shaped by Reddit shutting down the moderators' previous forum, which is why research peptides and reconstitution are off limits.
Posts are text or photos. Text is about 80%, images most of the rest, and in our sample there were no link posts at all. The most common flair is Provider / Pharmacy: which telehealth service fills from which pharmacy, how formulas differ, and how a company handled a problem. Progress photos, non-scale victories and maintenance threads are the other half of the feed.
AutoModerator does a lot of the talking. It replies to provider and pricing questions with a pinned post and a community survey, to dosing questions with a reminder that the subreddit is not medical advice, and to common worries like warm shipments or half-empty vials with explainer posts. The live issue in our sample was a quality problem with one pharmacy's vials, with members posting lot numbers, photos and how each telehealth company handled replacements.
What lands
- Progress photos with dates, weights and an honest note about loose skin or slow weeks.
- Non-scale victories, like fitting into a tight parking space or a smaller clothes size.
- Detailed quality reports on a shipment, with the lot number, what was wrong and how the provider responded.
- Open questions about living with the medication, such as which foods became hard to eat.
- Maintenance threads from people at goal working out what comes next.
What gets removed or ignored
- Any discussion of research peptides or reconstituting your own, which the rules say got the previous forum shut down.
- Asking members to DM you sources outside of medical providers and compounding pharmacies.
- Promo codes, and posts or comments telling people to visit your profile for one.
- About 15% of posts were removed by Reddit's filters and about 3% held by AutoModerator. We saw no manual moderator removals in our sample.
The unwritten rules
- Read the pinned provider post before asking which company to use. AutoModerator will point you there anyway.
- Spell it vial. AutoModerator corrects "vile" so often it has a canned reply.
- Name pharmacies and formulas precisely. Regulars talk in those terms, and a vague question gets vague answers.
- Respect people's choices. The community's own surveys and AutoModerator remind posters that maintenance plans and risk decisions are personal, and judgment about someone's weight or dose is not welcome.
- Comments are short, about 21 words, and rarely link out. A reply pushing one provider stands out.
Self-promotion
There is no general self-promotion rule, but promo codes and "check my profile" offers are banned outright, and so is soliciting people by DM. Provider names are discussed openly under the Provider / Pharmacy flair, and the moderators keep their own pinned provider and pricing post that AutoModerator links to. In practice a company account posting about itself would be competing with that pinned post and with members who compare providers closely and publicly. An honest experience post holds up; an ad does not.

Common questions
How much karma do you need to post in r/tirzepatidecompound?
No number is published and we saw no AutoModerator karma message. Reddit's own filters removed about 15% of posts in our sample, so an account with some history elsewhere is less likely to be caught.
Can I post promo codes or promote a provider in r/tirzepatidecompound?
No promo codes, and no telling people to check your profile for one. Members name and compare telehealth providers and compounding pharmacies freely, but the moderators run their own pinned provider post, and AutoModerator sends provider and pricing questions there.
Can you discuss research peptides in r/tirzepatidecompound?
No. Research peptides and reconstituting your own are both banned, because Reddit shut down the moderators' last forum for allowing it. The rules point that discussion to peptide subreddits.
Does r/tirzepatidecompound give dosing advice?
No. The description says the subreddit does not provide medical advice, and AutoModerator replies to dosing questions with general explainer posts and a reminder to check with your provider. Members share their own experience, not instructions.
Data as of October 15, 2026. Numbers come from public Reddit data (the Arctic Shift archive and GummySearch) sampled on this date. Removal share counts posts taken down by moderators, AutoModerator or Reddit's own filters. Banner and icon belong to the community.
